Honoring 42 Years of Mission Readiness
Task Force Phoenix Summit II The Task Force Phoenix II Summit was held at the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) from 24 to 26 May, 2011. The Summit brought together individuals to share their expertise as Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) professionals to discuss DEOMI's training mission and help define its path of continued excellence in EEO Education and Training well into the future. Participants were asked to tell us: "what DOEMI does well; what DEOMI does not do well and pet rocks; the way forward (course end state) expectations of the graduate's capabilities; as well as, the course end state-what "should be taught" that is not being taught and what "should we not teach that is being taught" in our course offerings. The Summit participants included approximately 29 senior managers many whom are DOEMI graduates, senior personnel from the Office of Diversity Management & Equal Opportunity (ODMEO) as well as Equal Employment Opportunity professionals from various Department of Defense, and other governmental organizations, all of whom came at their organization's expense; demonstrating their commitment to DEOMI. There were also 24 members of DEOMI staff or former staff who either facilitated or recorded the proceedings and another 17 DEOMI staff members who directly or indirectly provided support to the summit. They all shared their valuable insights, expertise, and competence from within their professions to assist DEOMI in ensuring our EEO courses are the best they can be.
